The office and studio are both closed for the next week due to a death in the family. Thanks for your understanding and patience. -Sara

Out of Office
I will be in San Francisco on vacation for the next few days — I can’t wait! I grew up three hours from this spectacular city. My grandmother and great uncle both lived in S.F. and in my younger days I must have drove across the Golden Gate bridge dozen’s of times. Of course then I didn’t know how lucky I was to be experiencing such a beautiful city. Now I do! I’m excited to go back!
I love this shot of the Golden Gate bridge with the city in the background (I found it on flickr):

Hopefully I’ll get some cool shots like this one! I will be out of touch during this time, but my husband will be home so if you call he can answer your questions. Have a great weekend! ·Sara·
Introducing My New Studio! | Corvallis Wedding & Portrait Photographer
I’ve been looking for the perfect location for my studio and I finally found it! It’s located in Corvallis in the Madison Avenue Plaza behind Noah’s Bagels and Starbucks. I’ve been busy the last couple of weeks getting it ready and just finally finished. Let me know what you think!!:

View from the front door:

Stop by and say hi — I’ll be there various times throughout the week. The address is 425 SW Madison Avenue, Suite C in Corvallis, Oregon.
I will be having a grand opening in the next month or so. If you’d like to know more about that sign up for my newsletter (you can sign up for it at the very bottom of this blog). I will be sending out an announcement via the newsletter with various offers and discounts that will apply if you attend the open house!
This is what it looked like before all my hard work (and my husband’s hard work too – thanks Joe!!):

People Are Kind
I have an amazing story to share with you about my sister and how kind people can be…
It was right after Christmas and my sister had $500 cash and a $50 check that she needed to deposit into her bank account. It was a weekend and her bank was closed, so she went through the drive-up ATM at her credit union. She deposited the money and the machine took the envelope and spit out a receipt that said “no deposit made”. She was in a panic as you can image! She called me all flustered. She decided she would call her bank and try to get through to somebody about this, even though they were closed.
As she was driving home my Grandmother called her and said that a gentlemen came across her envelope of money (the atm machine actually spit it out at him!) and he found the check with my grandma’s name and he called information to get her current phone number, luckily she was listed. He called her and asked if she knew who’s money this was and that he wanted to return it to her. My sister immediately called him back and they agreed to meet up. She called me so happy and also shocked that this man was so kind (I was surprised too).
She met up with him and his brother — Ken & Mike who were heading out for an evening of fun on the town and could have easily spent her money, but they didn’t. She offered to pay them $50 for returning it and being so honest. They refused and told her to spend the money on her children. As many of you that read my blog know, last year my sister suddenly became a widow and she is now raising two girls on her own. Their kindness truly was a gift to her.
I sometimes underestimate the human race — most of us are decent, kind people and thank you Ken & Mike for reminding me of that!
- Wow, what an awesome moment. I am glad that God blesses those that bless others. It was a pure act of kindness for they could have taken that money and spent it just as you had mentioned. It's good to know that there are still amazing people out there who do what is right. Great Story!
- Amazing story! It's always nice to hear stories like this, so touching.
- Thanks so much for commenting. Please leave comments as I love hearing from all of you! I also cried when my sister told me about this act of kindness. It was a great way to start off the New Year!
- Sara - My immediate response what that this brought a tear to my as I was reading it (sorry, Jessie, I guess I didn't have an original reaction). :-) I wasn't going to post - since Jessie's reaction was identical, but I think it's important to see that decency and kindness touch us all in pretty much the same way. Maybe a simple New Year's resolution would be to be kind and decent to all we meet. What a better world we would all live in! :-) Thank you for sharing this wonderful story.
- That seriously brought a tear to my eye. I love to know that there are still kind souls out there going out of their way to do the right thing. God bless them!
Happy New Year Everyone!!
I hope you all rang in the New Year with family and friends! I did – we had a great celebration!
