Yearly Archives: 2009

Merry Christmas!

I’ve been really enjoying this holiday season with my family. I have many posts to show you but it probably won’t happen until after the New Year. In the meantime I hope everyone is also enjoying this wonderful season with family and friends. Thanks for a great 2009 and I have a feeling that 2010 will even be better!

Happy Holidays everyone! Below are some recent photos of my Angel Baby in her holiday attire:

Awesome New Camera Bag!

I love this new bag that Kelly Moore just came out with! I’ve been on the search for a stylish camera bag that will fit all of my gear in it for years now — I’m going to order the purple one!!:

Hiking at Bald Hill

On Friday my daughter said to me “Mommy can we go take a walk in nature?”. I figured if she’s asking then it’s time to get outside, plus I love nature. We went to Bald Hill and I expected it to be packed given the great weather but we only saw two other people which made it very peaceful.  It was a beautiful day although it was freezing! Here are some images I took of Miss Lily and our dog Pepper:

She is such a joy and I love being her mom!!

[*My blog had some major issues over the weekend so if you were on here you might have noticed it looked different. My server company finally fixed the issues, but my blog was down for three days. I guess on a positive note -- at least they were able to fix it!]

Chris + Ashley | Maternity Photos in Corvallis

I photographed Chris + Ashley’s wedding in June of 2008. I absolutely love this couple! They are so sweet and their love for each other is very evident! Being around them makes me happy and I’m so glad they asked me to do their maternity pictures. There were so many favorites so I posted a lot. Stayed tuned because soon I’ll have photos of their baby boy to post — I can’t wait to meet him!

I’m catching up on my blog posts. I had a great time photographing him on his family’s property. I think I was laughing the whole photo shoot — thanks for being so fun Jimmy! Here are a few of my favorites:

Congratulations to the Winners of My Wedding Photography Giveaway!

Today is a day of Giving Thanks and I’m especially thankful for where I am at in my career. To show my gratitude I decided to give away wedding photography coverage to a couple that otherwise couldn’t afford it.

THANK YOU to all of you that submitted your stories! I chose the finalist by putting all qualified applicants in a hat and had my daughter draw the name – I wanted it to be completely random and fair.

I’m excited to announce that Craig + Lacey won my free wedding photography! This is their story:

lacey

Craig and I met 6 years ago when we worked together at Carson Oil Company. I was an office girl, and he was the off-limits warehouse boy:)His sister worked with us, he was 6 years younger, I was recently divorced, and it’s generally not a good plan to date people you work with, so I didn’t really do anything about my little crush on him. I had never seen him in anything but work clothes until the work holiday party, and when I saw how good he looked in jeans, I knew that I had to make my move!!:)I asked him to come over and watch a movie at my house, and we’ve been together ever since!

We got engaged on Valentine’s Day – he did the asking this time!

I closed my business this year, and have several years before all of the bills from it will be paid off, so I wasn’t thinking that financially we could have a fabulous wedding anytime soon. Craig just bought a house for us this summer, and with the government tax rebate from that, we decided that we could start planning a simple wedding. Craig has a big family-7 siblings total-so we knew that we couldn’t have a small reception, even if we wanted to! We figured we could cut back on things like flowers and photography to save money. We were just planning on having the little disposable wedding cameras on each table and leaving the pics up to our guests, which could be a little scary!

I am just so happy that I have finally found the greatest guy ever and can’t wait to make our commitment to each other official!

xoxo – Lacey Shelby

I think it’s great that they won! I know Lacey from when I had my studio in the Flinn Block Building as she was the owner of the fabulous store “Glam”. Lacey + Craig — I am very excited to photograph your wedding in August!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Hugs,

Sara
