I’ve been doing Zumba with Amy since January and I love it! I’m not one that loves to exercise but this class is high energy and fun. Amy really keeps everyone motivated and I highly recommend joining her class if you want to get in shape and have fun doing it! She has a free class on Wednesday so come and check it out!

Introducing My New Studio! | Corvallis Wedding & Portrait Photographer

I’ve been looking for the perfect location for my studio and I finally found it! It’s located in Corvallis in the Madison Avenue Plaza behind Noah’s Bagels and Starbucks. I’ve been busy the last couple of weeks getting it ready and just finally finished. Let me know what you think!!:

Stop by and say hi — I’ll be there various times throughout the week. The address is 425 SW Madison Avenue, Suite C in Corvallis, Oregon.

I will be having a grand opening in the next month or so. If you’d like to know more about that sign up for my newsletter (you can sign up for it at the very bottom of this blog). I will be sending out an announcement via the newsletter with various offers and discounts that will apply if you attend the open house!

This is what it looked like before all my hard work (and my husband’s hard work too – thanks Joe!!):

The Holidays Are Approaching…

…in fact they are right around the corner! If you are thinking you want family portraits or kids photos for your Christmas card it’s best to schedule that session now before the weather turns, and before the stress of the Holidays take over. Procrastination = Unnecessary Stress:)

Email me at info@saralilphoto.com to book a session. I take a limited amount of sessions and I shoot on Tuesday, Thursdays and sometimes Sundays. I also offer Gift Certificates which are a great Holiday gift idea!

Portland Lighting Workshop

I love workshops! Workshops help me keep current, better myself, allow me to learn from the best in the industry and I make new friends:)

I consider myself a “natural light photographer” but recently I’ve decided that I would like to learn more about my flash and various lighting options. I attended a great workshop by Neil van Niekerk all about lighting. It was the best workshop I’ve gone to in years (and I’ve been to lots!). We played around with flash, studio lighting, and video lights. Here are some of the images I captured:

Happy 4th of July!!

My good friend Gabe saves us a spot at the fireworks show. He’s a volunteer firefighter so we get special privileges with VIP seating! It’s awesome! Thanks Gabe!!

Happy Independence Day Everyone!!

¡En México! …

… on a MUCH needed vacation with one of my best friends. Hopefully all those years of Spanish classes will come back to me! I love México — this will be my eighth trip there!!

I will be gone until March 25th and I’ll respond to your calls and emails when I return. If it’s urgent call the business line and my husband will get back to you at his earliest convenience.

In the meantime, check out my new portraits site!:

Studio Happenings

The Chamber of Commerce puts on Business After Hours events and this months was at Flinn Block Hall. Adrienne helped coordinate the event and I photographed it. All the members had to walk by our studio to get to the hall so we changed our studio up a bit and put a bridal display in the window. Thank you to all the wonderful wedding vendors that made this display happen. Everyone go check it out!:

The awesome cake is from Mandy’s Custom Cakes:
