Adrienne

I thought I would post these for fun! We were just goofing around the other weekend and I got some cute photos of Adrienne:

I love this one because anytime I photograph her she always give me some sort of goofy face!:

Recent Travels

This last weekend I went to the coast with one of my good friends, Candace. It was just what I needed — very relaxing. We talked, read, cooked, hiked, and made art. Below are some of the images from the weekend:

On our drive home we stopped and hiked a bit and we found this cool structure:

A photo Candace took of me sitting on the rock bank:

Below are a couple of photos of Candace taken at sunset. I met her last year when she hired me to photograph her wedding. Her wedding was on my birthday and I had it marked on my online calendar that I was unavailable that weekend. She called anyway and said she loved my work and really wanted me as her wedding photographer. I said okay and we’ve been hanging out ever since. She is definitely one of the coolest people I know!

A few weekends ago my wonderful husband and I stayed at a gorgeous B&B on the McKenzie River called Eagle Rock Lodge. My family got us the gift as a Christmas present. Interestingly it’s where I shot my first paid wedding several years ago. It snowed most of the time we were there so I didn’t venture out much (after all we were there to relax), but the first day was sunny and here are just a few images I took:

My husband loves to raft down this river in the summer:

What is this?:

I sell my fine art so if anyone is interested in purchasing any images on here just send me an email.

Seventies?

I took these images on a hike the other weekend. I played around in Photoshop with the color — it’s supposed to have that “seventies” feel. I’m not sure if it does but it still turned out cute:

I like to try new things every once in awhile:)

The Coast

I grew up on a small coastal town in California, population 5000. It was a fishing and logging town when I lived there but those industries are pretty much extinct, and now it’s just a tourist destination. I went back in October for my grandfather’s funeral. Below are a few images I took:

This is the sunset at Todd’s point. I used to go here several times a month to watch the sunset. In fact the thing I miss most about not living on the coast is the sunsets over the ocean, so beautiful:

This is the Noyo Bridge, it’s a historic site in the town. I used to walk the logging road that goes to this bridge several times a week after high school (when I wasn’t at work!). I would walk it 1-2 miles by myself. It was a gorgeous walk along the ocean.

This is the fishing harbor at dusk. This is the famous harbor that the movie “Overboard” with Goldie Hawn was filmed at:

I just loved this stained glass window that was in the church at my grandfather’s service. I love angels — my daughters room is decorated in angels and fairies.

Now you know a little bit more about me:)-Sara

My Girl

All the tragedy and chaos in my life during 2008 has made me re-evaluate my priorities and do some major self reflection. What I know for sure: FAMILY is invaluable, irreplaceable, and my highest priority. Below are some recent photos of one of the many Angel’s in my life…

Not her usual smiley self but I still love this photo:

This weekend I went to the Art & Air Festival. The photos below are of the “glow show”:

The night ended with a laser show:

The whole experience was so fun!

Beauty Tips for Brides

Beauty Tips for Beautiful Skin:

One of my good friends is an esthetician. Before my wedding I kept having all kinds of skin problems and she gave me some good advice so I thought I’d share it with you:

Buy some plain organic yogurt like Brown Cow or Nancy’s. Twice a week wash your face and put it on as a mask. Keep it on until it dries and then wash it off with luke warm water. The bacteria in the yogurt pulls out the bad bacteria that’s built up in your skin. This really works and your skin feels great afterward! People tell me that I have glowing skin after I do this — no kidding!

For a facial scrub use sugar. Put a sealed container of sugar near the shower and when you are washing your face use a couple of tablespoons and scrub your face with it. Do this once a week. It helps clean the clogged pores. She said to never use the facial scrub with sand in it because it tears your pours and damages your skin.

You should try these things. They are inexpensive beauty treatments that really work! If anyone else has any secrets please post them in the comments sections of my blog — all women should have gorgeous skin, especially before their wedding!

Beautiful Things | Fine Art

Today I had a great time just hanging out in my yard! This time of year is so beautiful and now we finally have good weather. Below are some images I captured…

One of my friends told me the other day they love hanging out with me because I can name every flower and tree around. Wanna test me?! :

Petunia’s:

Daylilies:

Rose:

Hosta’s:

Morning Glory:

Bing cherries in the sunlight:

Some type of tropic plant (I’ll have to ask my hubby):

Cala Lily:

Snap dragons:

Lily (I think it’s Asian):

Our tree house snuggled in our curly willow tree:

My orchid, still in full bloom looking perfect. It’s funny because I have received several emails from people asking me what I did to my orchid to have it bloom for so many months. The truth is I haven’t done anything except water it!

My angel baby (she’s growing up way too fast!):

If any of my friends reading this want any cherries send me an email. We have so many and they will go bad before we can eat them all. The catch is that you’ll have to pick them yourself!

A Little Late…

To all the Dads out there Happy Father’s Day! I hope your day was fabulous!

Thank you to my wonderful husband for giving me such a sweet little girl.

Here’s a snap shot I took of her the other day — she was so proud that she climbed up on the chair all by herself!

I am so blessed!
