A lot of you know that in the last two years I’ve lost five family members. My life has changed dramatically as you can imagine. I’ve re-prioritized my life and I’m so much happier now! I found spirituality again. I live life with Joy. I’ve made several loving, supportive new friends. My family is stronger than ever. I’m loving motherhood and being a wife. My business is thriving and my clients are amazing.  As oddly as it sounds, life couldn’t be better! I do believe these tragic and devastating things happen in life to make us change and grow, and this is how my SoulFoto line developed…

…I’ve traveled the world taking tons of images. I love looking at these images but never knew quite how to show them or share them with the world. One day a burst of inspiration came over me and I sat down at my computer and started adding words to my fine art images, and I loved what I created! A few weeks later I woke up and remembered a dream in which something told me to call my new line “SoulFotos”,  so of course I immediately wrote that down and now that’s the name of my inspiration line!

I then ordered some products using these images and loved the results — they are printed on beautiful high quality photo paper. I decided to give them out as Christmas gifts to friends, family, and people I just met. The feedback was amazing! And viola… my SoulFoto line was created!

SoulFotos is my way of spreading love, hope, beauty, and faith to the world in a time when we need this more than ever.

These images are on greeting cards, bookmarks, post cards, posters, and affirmation cards. They make great gifts for your friends or yourself. Put them in your car, on your nightstand, or tape them to a mirror. Look at them often and smile!

Over the weekend we went to McMenamins Grand Lodge in Forest Grove – they have great food, a really neat whimsical atmosphere, a movie theater, spa, and a soaking pool as well as live music! It was a great escape!! Be sure to check it out if you have never been there, click here for the link.

My favorite building on the property was the Yard House Pub. I felt like I was back in Europe!:

I’ve traveled a lot of places with a lot of people and this was definitely one the best trips I’ve ever gone on. It was wonderful bonding time with my mom and sister and memories I will never forget! I feel renewed and inspired from this trip (although physically I am exhausted!).

This afternoon my sister and I went to the Paris mall which is a few blocks from our hotel (I really don’t like mall shopping but I had to see what it was like). I’m sad to report it’s not much different than US malls except a little trendier and a lot more expensive.

By evening it stopped snowing (and raining) so we all headed out to do the boat tour on the Seine river. It was really gorgeous, but cold! Here are some of my favorite shots from today (these photos are not edited):

We had an excellent lunch at a little local restaurant and then we went to the biggest Gothic cathedral in all of Europe. It was very beautiful.

(I’m still trying to figure out the image editing software that this netbook came with so please excuse the inconsistency in picture size, etc. Plus the monitor is so small it’s hard to tell how things look.)

]]> http://saralil.com/en-paris-day-4/feed/ 1 En Paris – Day 3 http://saralil.com/en-paris-day-3/ http://saralil.com/en-paris-day-3/#comments Wed, 01 Dec 2010 21:55:04 +0000 Sara Lil Photography http://saralil.com/?p=3716 Today we ran a lot of errands such as getting Euros (which was hard to do — most of the banks don’t convert dollars into Euros so we had to go to the Post Office, which oddly does convert money), getting groceries for the room (the supermarkets are very neatly laid out and everything is package so well, a lot like Market of Choice where we live), as well as going to the Carnvalet Museum, the Marais district and the Paris Christmas market. It snowed a lot today and we were bundled up in three layers! Surprisingly the town does not stop because of snow – everyone was still out and about on the metro, shopping, and in cafe’s. The city was packed with stylish french people in their very warm coats with matching hats and gloves! It was fun to watch! Most of the images today are from the outdoor market and the Christmas market.

We did a lot of things today on our walk around Paris. We took the metro into the heart of Paris. We then walked along the Seine river to Notre Dame which was absolutely breathtaking. They were performing a ceremony inside and the woman’s voice was so angelic it gave me goose bumps! We are enjoying our time together and have so many more adventures planned. It’s now 2:45 Paris time so I should go to bed… keep checking back I hope to post more throughout the week! These are straight out of the camera with no flash or photo shop work done to them and they were posted from my netbook which is hard to post images on due to the size of the very small screen so please bare with me:
