Happy Valentine’s Day!!

My husband and I had a great get away for Valentine’s Day! Over the weekend we went to McMenamins Grand Lodge in Forest Grove – they have great food, a really neat whimsical atmosphere, a movie theater, spa, and a soaking pool as well as live music! It was a great escape!! Be sure to check it out if you have never been there, click here for the link.

My favorite building on the property was the Yard House Pub. I felt like I was back in Europe!:

I absolutely love this time of year – life slows down after the rush of summer and I have time to enjoy each moment. Yesterday was a perfect fall day and it helps that we live in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. I was at the park with some amazing women friends of mine and my daughter enjoying the day . As we were walking and I saw the perfect light shining through the trees. I told Lily to stand still for a second. She stopped and looked over at me and then closed her eyes and said “Mama, do I look like an Angel”:

My Baby Girl Turned Four

My angel baby turned four over the weekend. Where does the time go?! Below are a few recent shots of her – she’s not being her usual joyous self as she was busy washing her hands (which is a task she takes quite seriously):

Watching my child grow up is bittersweet, sometimes I wish she was still a baby, but I do love this age. She brings so much joy to my life – I feel so blessed!

I have some things happening that I would like to share with all you dedicated blog readers:

I currently have an Art Show on display at New Morning Bakery in downtown Corvallis. It will show through the months of October & November. If you would like to meet me, an Artist’s Reception will be held on Nov. 6th from 5-7 p.m. at New Morning Bakery, 219 SW 2nd Street in Corvallis – please come by for some refreshments and to say hi!

The Albany Bridal Show is Sunday, October 24th from 11-5pm! Brides be sure not to miss this one. Adrienne Kume is the new coordinator of it and it’s going to be a fabulous event! I will not be there as my husband surprised me with a last minute vacation, but I will have two of my dear friends Amber and Sally there representing my business and they will be able to answer any questions you might have. There will be prints on display and plenty of albums to look through! The website for the bridal show is www.albanybridalshow.com

Madison Plaza Studio – Sadly, I decided to close the doors to my studio. Being that I am an on location photographer it just wasn’t serving me. It was a great experience and I’m glad I did it. I am NOT going out of business as some people might assume since the studio is gone… no worries my business is here to stay!!

I will be on vacation this month from October 15-25th with no access to technology. Feel free to leave messages with my house sitter if you wish, as I will be checking in with her every few days and she can let me know if there is anything urgent to attend to.

I love these girls! I’ve known them my whole life and they are very special to me. They live in California so I rarely see them but they came up to visit last month and we did a mini photo shoot. I especially love the first image because of their expressions, it’s so them!!:

Recently I photographed Brian for his senior portraits. I always really like photographing high school seniors. It’s fun chatting with them — hearing about their future plans, what they like to do for fun, and what’s cool and what’s not! It was great getting to know you a little bit Brian! Note to Seniors: Please don’t wait until the last minute to get your photos taken. The turnaround time on a photo shoot is generally 2-3 weeks so when you wait until the last minute it puts added pressure on the photographer, the yearbook staff, and your family… not good
