“Care”… Just Some Music I Like :)

I’m trying something new — I’ll be posting some of the music I like on here now. One of my new favorite songs these days is “Care” by Kid Rock. I’ve always liked Kid Rock but I especially like his new album, Born Free. This song really resonators with me right now:

Jazz Singer Halie Loren’s Photo Shoot | Corvallis Photographer

Last week I photographed the beautiful jazz singer Halie Loren. We had a great time — we started out in a studio and then ended the session outside in the pouring rain! Below are some of my favorites:

Halie is out of Eugene and she’s won several awards for her music. I copied this from her website “her most recent award is for “Best Vocal Jazz Album” at the 2009 Just Plain Folks Music Awards”. Check her out she’s so talented!!

Happy Spring!

I am so excited that spring is here!! Spring means new growth and more light!! One of our first plants to blossom is our daphne scrubs. I really don’t like shrubs, but these are actually pretty and they smell amazing! My husband has them planted by our back door and everytime I go through the door I smell their wonderful scent! He picked some last night brought them in the house so now we can enjoy their fragrance in our dining room too:

Happy Spring Everyone!!

Matt + Ashley’s Wedding Album | Corvallis Wedding Photographer

Some of my wedding collection include albums and I offer several styles and varieties. The designs of my albums are simple, clean, artistic, and modern. Below are images of Matt + Ashley’s wedding album which is an 8×12″ flush mount album with a red alligator leather cover. It’s 30 pages but I’m just going to show some of my favorites:

You should see this album in person, it’s really beautiful! Have a great weekend!! -Sara

Snow Days in Corvallis

I took this image from my porch the other week when it snowed:

SoulFotos: Images & Quotes That Feed Your Soul ™ by Sara Lil

I am so excited to announce my new line to you: SoulFotos: Images & Quotes That Feed Your Soul ™ !
A lot of you know that in the last two years I’ve lost five family members. My life has changed dramatically as you can imagine. I’ve re-prioritized my life and I’m so much happier now! I found spirituality again. I live life with Joy. I’ve made several loving, supportive new friends. My family is stronger than ever. I’m loving motherhood and being a wife. My business is thriving and my clients are amazing.  As oddly as it sounds, life couldn’t be better! I do believe these tragic and devastating things happen in life to make us change and grow, and this is how my SoulFoto line developed…

…I’ve traveled the world taking tons of images. I love looking at these images but never knew quite how to show them or share them with the world. One day a burst of inspiration came over me and I sat down at my computer and started adding words to my fine art images, and I loved what I created! A few weeks later I woke up and remembered a dream in which something told me to call my new line “SoulFotos”,  so of course I immediately wrote that down and now that’s the name of my inspiration line!

I then ordered some products using these images and loved the results — they are printed on beautiful high quality photo paper. I decided to give them out as Christmas gifts to friends, family, and people I just met. The feedback was amazing! And viola… my SoulFoto line was created!

SoulFotos is my way of spreading love, hope, beauty, and faith to the world in a time when we need this more than ever.

These images are on greeting cards, bookmarks, post cards, posters, and affirmation cards. They make great gifts for your friends or yourself. Put them in your car, on your nightstand, or tape them to a mirror. Look at them often and smile!

If you wish to purchase them, right now the South Co-Op in town is selling them and one of my favorite stores in Salem called Journey’s also carries them. You really should see the final product in hand as they printed beautifully! If you live elsewhere you can order them online through etsy: http://www.etsy.com/shop/saralil

I hope you enjoy this inspiration product line I bring you as much as I enjoy creating them!!

Goofy Girl!

I love her goofy personality!! I actually wish I was more like that! We did a mini photo shoot out in the rain yesterday. Her auntie made her this cute little hat:

Happy Wednesday!!

Go Outside.

It’s gorgeous today — freezing, but beautiful! I went for a hike earlier and took my camera. I love living in Oregon!:

I drive by this everyday! Beautiful little piece of farm land:

Have a great week everyone!

Carson + Hayley’s Maternity Shoot | Corvallis Maternity Photography

I seriously have the best clients in the world!! Carson and Hayley are one of those couples that I’ve had the privilege of photographing several times now. I shot their engagement photos, wedding, and now maternity photos!! I love that so many of my clients become my friends and come back to me year and after year to capture their precious moments – I’m absolutely honored to be their photographer! Below are some of my favorites:

Thanks Carson and Hayley! I can’t wait to meet and photograph baby Keeley!!

I was totally out of my comfort zone today…

I was totally out of my comfort zone today! I gave a talk at a middle school about my photography business. This is not something that I am at all comfortable doing, but surprising I had a really good time. The students were engaged and interested and they asked a lot of great questions!! I’m shocked to say that it was totally fun for me!! It’s good to do things out of my comfort zone, right?!

And because photo blog post should include images I’ve attached this one I took last year. This huge sign was in the middle of a little town down in California. I like it so I photographed it:
